"Gua" means scraping, "Sha" is its reaction and describes reddening of the skin. We are talking about a special scraping method in which certain areas are scraped with a buffalo horn and thereby cause a desired reaction of the body. Gua Sha dissolves congestion and promotes blood flow to skin, muscle and connective tissue as well as to the internal organs. Muscular stiffness and pain are thus reduced. This method is particularly suitable for problems of the musculoskeletal system and respiratory problems, but also for flu-like infections.
